Elite is proud to announce the successful offsetting of our carbon emissions for the 2023-24 year, reaffirming our dedication to sustainability and our core value of “Do the Right Thing.”
Elite offset 240 tonnes of CO₂e emissions by supporting Carbon Footprint Ltd‘s global carbon reduction projects. These efforts are part of our broader strategy to continuously minimise our environmental footprint while contributing to global carbon-saving initiatives and UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Our offsetting contributions include:
Brazil Brascarbon Methane Recovery Project (120 tCO₂e offset)
This project mitigates methane emissions from livestock waste by using covered in-ground anaerobic digesters, converting the methane into CO₂ which has a lower climate impact. It supports socioeconomic development with job creation, cleaner air, and water quality improvements while advancing UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 and 13: Good Health and Well-being, Climate Action.
Northern Uganda Safe Water Project (120 tCO₂e offset)
By repairing and maintaining boreholes, this initiative provides safe drinking water, reducing the need to boil water and consequently lowering deforestation and CO₂ emissions. It improves health outcomes, reduces the burden on women and children, and promotes education, supporting SDGs 3, 5, 6, and 13: Good Health, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation, and Climate Action.
Additionally, 24 trees were planted in Kenya, further enhancing environmental sustainability and carbon absorption.
